Satin material with metallic diamond pattern. Satin devives its name from the Chinese port of Quanzho which in Medieval Arabic was pronounced Zayton. Satin is a weave that typically has a glossy surface and dull back. Satin has a high lustre and is commonly used for bed sheeting. It is also used extensively for baseball jackets, sports wear, womens lingerie, nightgowns, blouses and evening wear. It is also used in mens boxer shorts, shirts, neckties and scarves. Other uses include interior furnishing, upholstery, set and stage dressings.
